Rashmita

My name is Rashmita, and I am currently living at the Light and Life Hostel in Nepal, where I am studying in Grade 9. I come from a very remote village and have one younger brother.

Growing up was not easy for me. My parents have struggled in their relationship for many years, often living separately. My father would leave home for long periods of time, and when he returned, he did not show much care or love toward me, especially because I am a daughter. Instead, he favored my younger brother.

Despite these challenges, my mother has always stood by me. She worked hard to raise me and has always dreamed that I would become a good and successful person one day. She longed for me to receive a good education, even though she did not have the support of my father.

I also faced serious health challenges. Due to a Vitamin D deficiency, I experienced muscle weakness and pain in my legs. This affected me both physically and emotionally, making it difficult to study. There were times when I would cry day and night because of the pain.

In May 2025, everything began to change when I was enrolled in In Better Hands. I truly believe God placed me in a place where I am now cared for and loved. At the hostel, I have wonderful home parents who look after me tirelessly, day and night.

Through the regular visits and encouragement from Sister Kris, along with different activities, I have learned practical life skills and have grown stronger in many ways. With proper treatment, my health has improved greatly. I am now much stronger both physically and mentally.

I am also so thankful for the sponsors who continue to pray for me. Your support has helped me grow in every area of my life.

My dream is to become a good dancer and use my gift to glorify God.
