Hope for the Village
My name is Mi Myo Chay, and I will turn 16 years old soon. I am currently in Grade 8. There are seven members in my family—my parents, one brother, three sisters, and me.
Because my father and brother are both disabled and unable to work, our family has faced extreme poverty. My sisters were never able to attend school, and my mother has struggled alone to provide for our family. Because of In Better Hands, I am the only child in my family who has been given the opportunity to receive an education.
For many years, In Better Hands has supported both my schooling and our family’s livelihood. When war broke out in my hometown, the organization helped relocate our entire family to safety. They assisted us in obtaining our national registration cards and even provided the airfare for all of us to travel. This was an incredible blessing, because many people wanted to flee the war zone but could not afford to do so. In Better Hands truly became our lifeline during that time.
I am very happy and always try my best in school. I also enjoy participating in church activities and Sunday school. My sisters are now working hard to support our family, since my father and brother cannot work, and my mother is growing older and no longer able to do heavy labor.
Please pray for my family. I am so grateful for your love and generous support. I truly hope that one day I will have the opportunity to meet the kind people who have shown me such love.
God bless you!
