Hope for the Village
My name is Riuly. I was married at a very young age, and I have one son. I am currently living with his family in a rented house. My husband passed away 25 years ago. During our marriage, he did not treat me well—I was often beaten and threatened.
I have difficulty speaking clearly, and my eyesight is poor. Because I come from a marginalized caste group in Nepal, I was never given the opportunity to receive an education or enjoy the benefits that others in society have. When I was young, I strongly desired to study, but that opportunity never came. Due to the caste system, I have been considered “untouchable,” which has made life even more difficult.
I also suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, which causes pain and swelling in my joints. To survive, I work in other people’s fields in exchange for daily food. I long for consistent food and proper medication for my health.
I am a regular attendee at the Free Methodist Church, and I have strong faith in God.
God has been so good to me. In December 2025, I received a great blessing when I was enrolled with In Better Hands through the Hope for the Widow program. This was far beyond anything I expected. Since joining In Better Hands, I have been loved and cared for in a holistic way. I feel accepted, and I am happier than before.
Thank you for strengthening me physically, socially, and spiritually. Thank you, In Better Hands, for being my support during difficult times. I am truly grateful for your care and provision, and I continue to pray for the ministry. God bless In Better Hands.
